The Hamburg-based startup Beagle Systems has closed a seed financing round of 5 million euros. The round was led by PT1 and AENU. The capital will be used to further develop the innovative drone technology and accelerate growth in Europe.
The long-range drones from Beagle Systems are specially designed for inspecting energy infrastructure. They capture high-resolution geodata more efficiently than helicopters and help to detect methane emissions and threats to critical infrastructure at an early stage.
More safety and sustainability
“The support of our investors enables us to make Europe’s critical infrastructure more resilient in geopolitically challenging times,” says the company. The autonomous drones take off from special hangars, are monitored remotely and deliver more precise data than satellite images – with lower emissions.
Expansion and growth
Beagle Systems was founded in 2019 by Oliver Lichtenstein, Jerry Tang and Mitja Wittershagen. They were supported in their first steps at the Hamburg University of Technology’s start-up center Startup Port @TUHH.
The company plans to use the new funding to expand its technology and expand into new markets. Customers pay per kilometer of pipeline for the data collected.
With this financing round, Beagle Systems is well equipped to revolutionize the inspection of energy infrastructures and make a sustainable contribution to the safety and environmental friendliness of the industry.
